A grand day out...
It has been nearly 3 weeks now since I stepped foot in the chill factor E (have to agree with earlier posts that the E in this title is a really stupid idea!), but I still go to bed visualising trying to link turns on the nursery slope. The beginner’s course in Manchester was brilliant, with informative, friendly and very patient teachers. I went there never having strapped foot in a board, but left full of enthusiasm for giving it a go on the slopes near Milan, my new home for the foreseeable future. With tonnes of boarders in my new place of work and experienced friends passing through on their holiday soon it was important to get a vague idea of the basics. It was only 6 hours learning, but enough got packed in to it for me to not be petrified at the thought of joining them.
Vicki, my girlfriend, definitely seemed to get the idea of turning quicker than I and I still have a sore tailbone to prove that stopping gracefully remains far from my strong point. There appears to be some kind of magnetic attraction between me and the right hand side of slopes once strapped onto a board; turning left shouldn’t be that hard! Anyway, I am off to http://www.pianidibobbio.com/ in a couple of weeks. Any tips and advice would be appreciated.
